SMART Learning Suite 16.0 and later require the presence of the Microsoft Windows Update KB3033929 on Windows 7 systems. As of this writing (January, 2017), Microsoft has released roll-up updates that supersede the functionality of KB3033929:
It is likely that Microsoft will publish further monthly roll-up updates that also supersede KB3033929.
If you install any of the above superseding updates, it is possible that KB3033929 will not seem to be installed – i.e., it may not appear in Windows’ own list of installed updates. However, if you then attempt to interactively install KB3033929, the Windows Update Installer will stop and the following notification dialog will appear: "Security Update for Windows (KB3033929) is already installed on this computer.”
SMART Learning Suite 16.0 and 16.1 check for KB3033929 but they are not aware of any superseding updates.
During uninstall, or during an upgrade to future versions, SMART Learning Suite 16.0 and 16.1 will unnecessarily perform a check for KB3033929. If the check fails, the uninstall or upgrade will fail. The check will fail if superseding updates exist but Windows does not list KB3033929 as being installed.
