Issue
Symptoms
When using SMART Notebook software, some Adobe Flash content is replaced by widgets or SMART lab activities.
Cause
Adobe Flash Player is no longer supported in SMART Notebook software. SMART Notebook software can replace the some previous Flash content with widgets or SMART lab activities if an updated alternative to the previous Flash content is available.
Solution
Because Adobe Flash is no longer supported in SMART Notebook 16.2 software, SMART Notebook software replaces the outdated Adobe Flash content with widgets or SMART lab activities that perform the same task.

Currently, SMART Notebook software converts the following Flash activities:
  • Clock
  • Dice
  • Pull tab
  • Spinner
  • Timer
  • Vortex sort (text and images)
  • Multiple Choice
  • Keyword Match
  • Pairs
  • Category Sort (text and images)
  • Image Match
  • Page buttons

For more information on SMART Notebook software no longer supporting Adobe Flash content, please see Adobe Flash objects are no longer supported in SMART Notebook.
Background
Because many platforms continue to block it, Adobe is also encouraging content creators to move away from Flash. SMART Technologies is therefore unable to continue to support Adobe Flash content and has designed several methods in SMART Notebook to convert Flash content to a supported format.
