SMART Notebook toolbar icons and tabs appear very small

Overview
SMART Notebook collaborative software detects that the computer's DPI settings may make things appear very small. This effect maybe be noticeable in SMART Notebook software's toolbar icons and the tabs for the Page Sorter, Gallery, Add-ons and so on. 

SMART is committed to resolving this issue in SMART Notebook software. SMART is working to resolve the issue across the next few releases. In the meantime, the following instructions show you a work-around based on your computer's operating system.
Details

Windows 10 operating system

  1. Ensure Windows 10 build 15063.250 is installed
  2. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\SMART Technologies\Education Software
  3. Right-click Notebook.exe and then click Properties.
  4. Select the Compatibility tab.
  5. Enable Override high DPI scaling behavior.
  6. From the drop-down for Scale Adjustment performed by, select System.
  7. Click Apply and the OK.
The next time you start SMART Notebook software, the toolbar and tabs should in a larger, easier-to-use size.

Windows 7 operating system

  1. Right-click the desktop and select Personalize.
    The Personalization window appears.
  2. Click Display in the lower left corner to open the Display window.
  3. Under Make it easier to read what's on your screen, select a percentage by which you want to increase the size of screen elements (either Medium - 125% or Larger - 150%).
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Log off and then back on to your computer to see the changes.

Windows 8 operating system

  1. Right-click your desktop and select Personalize.
    The Personalization window appears.
  2. Click Display in the lower left corner to open the Display window.
  3. Under Change the size of all items, select Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays.
  4. Select the percentage (125% or more) by which you want to increase the size of screen elements. The available options include:
    • Small - 100% (default)
    • Medium - 125%
    • Large - 150%
    • Extra Large - 200%
    • Extra Extra Large - 250%
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Log off and then back on to your computer to see the changes.
